The Problem
Presently, the current food crisis in Haiti is grave. With at least 115,000 children in Haiti expected to suffer from life-threatening malnutrition this year — a 30% increase over 2022. Some areas are significantly affected by gang violence obstructing critical food supplies.
Meanwhile, only 1 in 4 health facilities today remain reachable, leaving a significant portion of the population without proper medical care, posing a lethal threat to malnourished children who are already at risk for cholera. Haiti has been among the top five countries in the number of recorded cholera cases, and the spread of violence has disrupted water treatment plants, making it difficult to combat the resurgent epidemic.
Children are also being denied their right to education, with the displacing of families and disrupting educational routines. There is also a disruption of rice and agricultural production, a lifeline for the economy, which further affects families’ ability to support their children’s education.
Becoming Part Of The Solution!
For all these reasons, the international community and non-profit organizations such as The Haiti Big Brother Organization, have a moral obligation to support Haiti during this crisis.

Despite the extremely insecure and volatile environment, Haiti Big Brother Organization and our partners are stepping up efforts to protect children and families and provide the lifesaving support they desperately need, including: supporting nutrition and health, promoting safe learning environments, providing psychosocial support and assisting with disaster recovery and preparedness.

Haiti Big Brother originated from one person's vision to enhance the lives of children in the community of Martineau-Cavaillon, Haiti. Twelve years later, the need still exists. We intend to provide support to not only the churches and orphanages in Martineau but also potentially assist other communities in desperate need.

Providing children the opportunity to attend school can transform lives and pave the way for a brighter future, particularly for those living in challenging environments.
